This is the new interface for the new upcoming Windows Live Messenger.
It has full Windows 7 integration and support and it just looks stupendous.
The only thing which I couldn't do is change my name, which seems that that feature will no longer be supported.

though you can change your real name from the windows live website. You cannot however change your name anymore from the msn application itself it seems.
Though do note that this is still in beta phase.

I'm using it right now and can say that is feeling in love with it, love the new interface and all the new features it comes with it. MS did really a great job on this one! Regarding the name thing, well in a way is very positive so everyone with his own name and you easily recognize people when they sign in and out even to search for a particular one its easier with names rather than nicknames. Though it should have been made one may have a nickname which appear between name and surname.

the thing with the nickname is that i had my nickname set and not my real name, so when i installed the new beta, i was stuck with the old nickname... so i uninstalled it, installed the older version, changed the name and then re-installed the beta.

& BTW you didn't had to change to older version to change name, just go on "more options" next time. Then there is change name, and once you click it takes you to your profile on the browser, Change your desired name / surname and click on save. And after some time it will change on the messenger as well ;)

Yeah I absolutely agree with you, I had name and nickname after and been like that for quite some time. in my opinion they had to put nickname between name and surname for everyone and lets say limit it to 10 characters only.

Is there any release date on the website you downloaded it ?

i ever downloaded this msn and it was kinda buggy, slow connexion crash every 5 mins etc...
